About the Author
Lynda J. Oswald is a Professor of Business Law at the University of Michigan Business School. She is also a Research Fellow of the William Davidson Institute She received her A.B., M.B.A., and J.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. While at the Michigan Law School, she served on the editorial board of the Michigan Law Review. She clerked for the Honorable Cornelia G. Kennedy of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit before joining the faculty of the Michigan Business School in 1988. Professor Oswald has taught at the University of Florida Law School and the University of Michigan Law School. She was a visiting scholar at China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing and at L'viv State University in L'viv, Ukraine. Professor Oswald has served as a staff editor and a special editor of the American Business Law Journal and as a special editor of the Journal of Legal Studies Education. She is currently the Contributing Editor of Environmental Law for the Real Estate Law Journal. Professor Oswald has received numerous awards for her research, including the Holmes-Cardozo Award for Research Excellence from the American Business Law Journal. Her work has been cited by several courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court in its 1998 decision in United States v. Bestfoods. Her research focuses on intellectual and real property law issues.

In this book, Professor Barr presents a reading of the story of the Garden of Eden, not as a tale of the origins of sin and death, but as a tale of a chance of immortality, briefly accessible to humanity but quickly lost. Old Testament scholars have long been aware that the traditional reading of the story of Adam and Eve as the 'Fall of Man', though hallowed by St Paul's use of it, cannot stand up to close examination of the text. However, they have not succeeded in formulating an alternative interpretation which rivals the force of this traditional reading or is relevant to such a wide range of biblical and theological issues. Professor Barr's new interpretation has such force, and with its challenges to many conventional views it is likely to cause a considerable stir among traditionalists and to excite those dissatisfied with aspects of traditional thought. Central to the book is its stress on the role and prevalence of the idea of immortality, commonly thought to be a later Greek and un-biblical import into Christian thinking. Reflection on immortality also leads to a reconsideration of ideas about death in the Hebrew Bible; about Sheol. the Hebrew underworld; and about the soul. Professor Barr brings out the importance of time for the Hebrew Bible and the concept of length of days, showing that the threat is not so much death as such, but the manner and time of death. His study of chronology leads to a reconsideration of the story of Noah's ark, and the book ends by seeing resurrection and immortality as complementary, rather than conflicting, ideas.

I have no memory of any annoying issues with this book and will be reading his/her ...

There's just nothing wrong with this book. The information is clear and helpful. Writers of commercial fiction and screenplays especially will appreciate the way the author builds a case for creating high impact plot points and demonstrates through myriad examples taken from well known movies, how and why certain films/books are successes and certain others aren't, in terms of building story and carrying out effective climaxes. After reading this book, I'm much more aware of how to create the necessary tension in a story. I should have written a review right after I read it a few months ago, but still, I have no memory of any annoying issues with this book and will be reading his/her other books at some point.

Best Book on Building a Climax I've Read!

This is the best book on building a climax for a novel or screenplay I have read, and I've read a lot of them. This book tells you step by step how to build a climax that works and keep your readers turning pages until the last page. Every writer wannabe, (like me) and every author can learn something from this one. I hope the author continues to write more of this type of books. I would like to see one on Subplots.

Great Buy

It's a simple book that goes over a complex subject. I love the amount of detail that is covered and how it is explained. It really helped me out for college. I also enjoy how this book is thin and pretty easy to take anywhere with you. It has a section in the back for you to take notes and a "cheat sheet" that basically goes over any important facts.

Find your way in Forex with this guide

After seeing several of my friends have an amazing amount of success with Forex trading, to the point where they were earning almost double their monthly salary, I knew I had to give it a go. With all of their advice I managed to make some headway, but it wasn't until I stumbled upon this book that I actually felt some real traction into the world of Forex. This books gives fantastic insights on how to find your way in this challenging, but extremely opportunistic, world of trading.

Very Useful Guide for Beginners

This book is really well written, easy to understand, and it is a very useful practical guide for beginners. I really liked the fact that the author is actually putting information about himself, giving to the book a personal human touch. Lots of suggestions, pros and cons are given about different methods - you can find many information on the Internet but this book helps you to clear your mind and make smart choices.
This book was overall really interesting, not too complicated for someone who is new to forex trading. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is interested in forex trading and doesn't know how to go deeper in this field.

May the Trend be your Friend

This is one book I wish I had when i started day trading a few years ago. The author explains his methodology, risk, the importance of discipline, avoiding "revenge trading", being aware of news, the wisdom of trading only one pair of currencies and much more. Just like you don't need to know how a car works before driving it, you don't need to know every technical detail about trading in order to be a trader. Jim knows and enjoys his subject and it shows in his writing. Reading it felt like I was being guided by a friend on a journey. Beginning and experienced traders will benefit from this book. Don't be scared, get prepared.

About the Author

Since 1983, Tom Glatch has contributed hundreds of stories and photographs to major collector, Corvette, Mustang, muscle car, and Mopar magazines. Tom grew up during the muscle car era, and his first car was a very quick 1970 Plymouth Duster 340. Tom and his wife Kelly have contributed photographs to books by other Motorbooks authors, as well as Motorbooks' Corvette calendars. When not pursuing old muscle cars, Tom works for a Fortune 500 corporation as a data and systems analyst and developer. He lives in southeastern Wisconsin with his wife and two children, daughter Keara and son Sean.

I have to be honest I have not gone past the Royal Pontiac section near the front. I am bias because my black 1968 Firebird graces two pages near the beginning. While the Jim Wangers Judge on the following pages I took care of for over 17 years while it was here in Detroit. The shadow in the Judge as it sits under the Woodward turn a round sign is me. Dave Newhardt takes some great pictures.
I do like the cleaver cover with the hoods of both the Camaro and Shelby Mustang being able to peck under the hoods. Just have to be careful not to catch either hood when taking the book off the shelve on putting it back on the shelve.

nice book of regurgitated pics and information

nice book of regurgitated pics and information, would have liked to see more of the Dealers involved from Ford and Chrysler. missed so many was sad to recommend to a friend. Nothing on Twister or other special cars and nothing on Dealer sold Hot Cars like the Beasly Ford Torinos. the biggest let down was no info on dealer Drag programs like Lincoln Mercury into the 70's. it didn't just end in 69, so why not go into the programs and literature of how insurance, Safety, Oil prices and NHRA changed the Musclecar to what we have today. in other words they still made cars through the 70's and 80's 90's 2000 and so on.

All kinds of people are here, having a good time. They are somewhat unbuttoned, talking about their lives' stories as they might to a friend. They have in common their vigor, their ultimate success, and their love of economics. But mostly they are various, a regular gallery of types. Scientific autobiography has come late to economics, but William Breit, Barry Hirsch, and Trinity University have shown how instructive and downright entertaining it can be.

My entire family is enjoying this book. There aren't a lot of photos or pictures but each chapter is short and clear about the topic at hand. I can easily hand this book to someone open to the chapter on Songkran and have them understand what it is about in the 10 minutes it takes to read the chapter. Clean, Clear, Concise. Good stuff! Incredible read.

First off I absolutely love this series. I won't give any plot spoilers. This book really opens up some more character development especially in characters you've wanted to know about. You get more insight to Setrakus Ra and what his whole deal is. And you get to see a different side to Ella. Definitely pick this up if you are a fan to the series or if you just enjoy an incredible sci fi voyage!

The best one Yet!

This book is now my favorite of the 5 released! It starts where the Fall of Five left off, Marina, Six and Nine are trekking through the swamp with Marina a mess from Five's betrayal and keeping little control over her new legacy. John is with Sam, Malcolm and Adam on the run after the events in Chicago, joined by the Chimaera Adam rescued. We also get the POV from Ella who was taken in Chicago. If you read The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy, there is a nice surprise (ok we knew this would play in) about where one of those story lines left off.

The action is intense throughout most of the book. There is no where near as much running and hiding as in the previous books. The Garde had united in The Fall of Five, so now it is about taking action instead of sitting around and planning. The pace is really fast, and moves along well. Some of the previous questions you're left wondering are answered. (DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU HAVENT READ FALL OF FIVE). Without giving away any details, but some answers to look forward too, we learn Setrakus Ra's story and how he came to lead the Mogs and why he wants Ella at his side from the coma Ella was stuck in. I love how the book ends. It's the perfect setup to the last book and I cannot wait another year to see how this sends! I guess I'll have to make do with the novellas that will be released.

A great series but flawed.

It's difficult to give a fair rating on this series. On the one hand, I love the concept and the whole series while on the other hand - as one other commentator notes here - the author's writing style drives me nuts at times. I am not American and there are numerous occasions when the street-speak or very American terminology throws me altogether. (For instance: "bangs" - I had to look that one up!) This leads me to comment that all the Garde speak in this style - even Marina and Ella who did not grow up in the USA. Teenagers don't lose their style of talking overnight when moving country - I know, I did this myself. In fact, they may never stop being more Spanish then American (as in the case of Marina and Ella.)
Having said all this, the series is enjoyable but again, there needs to be a clearly defined pathway through the five novels and nine novellas. Knowing the correct reading order is essential to understanding the back stories of characters and how they fit with the main novels - particularly when it comes to Adam and Five. Trying to read "The Revenge of Seven" without having first read "The Lost Files: Hidden Enemy" will lead to confusion for the reader. Reading the five main novels alone, is certainly not the path to take. In fact, Adam's appearance in the previous book "The Fall of Five" will seem mysterious without having read the first Lost Files novellas which tell of his relationship with Number One. It would be most helpful if Amazon or the publisher of the series could print the suggested reading order online so as to help newcomers to the series.
